wedding gown wednesday

hello lovelies!
i have chosen to feature one of my gal pals:
mrs. heather -
for today's wGw and i'm so excited to share what an amazingly beautiful bride she was on her special day!
this lovely lady looked stunning in her ivory demetrios gown and it was a total cinderella fit! the mermaid shaped gown had a sweetheart neckline and an embellished body with tulle flaring at the knee. if i could describe this dress in one word, it would be whimsical. okay, i need two words, whimsical AND dreamy! it flattered her petite frame flawlessly. the details and fit of this gown echo the beauty this girl holds and let me tell you....her whole ensemble was alluring and wondrous!
she completed her look with chandelier earrings, peep-toe platform sling backs, a handmade birdcage veil by LIxCREATIONS [aka: me!] and everything blended beautifully.
okay, so i'm gonna stop rambling on about how gorgeous she looked and let you see for yourself....enjoy! =)

wedding gown wednesday

oh, man...oh, man! it has been a little while and a lot longer than i anticipated to be away. i feel so terrible about my absence at mustard and plum, but i promise i have a really good excuse! =)
the past week was really insane! [!!!!!] with the last week of school, my job, a kinda last-minute interview, and a wedding that i was planning all in ONE week, it was nearly impossible to get any recreational time. i barely touched my computer and while doing my final assignments, i made a promise to myself to not do anything other than schoolwork, so i wouldn't get side tracked. but, hey! i made it...i'm alive and i'm back! we have a lot to catch up on and i can't wait to share what i did last week!!! =)
.......................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................
before this weds. ends, i want to share a little wGw post...
i'm actually going to feature my dear friend, mrs. katheerine thomas, who allowed me to bring her wedding dreams into reality last saturday! i'm happy to say that it was a grand success and she looked more beautiful that anyone could have ever imagined! i will share some wedding details later this week, but today i wanna show you her gorgeous gown and self!
here she is...

her off-white, trumpet shaped gown fit her like a glove! that dress was definitely created for her because it truly accentuated her best assets and she felt like a princess! the ruching of the dress added great texture to its simplicity and even within its simplicity the cut and fit of the gown were just simply amazing! she accessorized with pearls and sparkly open-toed pumps [not pictured]. her finishing touch was a handmade birdcage veil with faux cymbidium orchids, made by yours truly for LIxCREATIONS. another added accessory was her beautiful bouquet [also made by me], created with real roses and hydrangeas. it totally added the pop of color she desired and it blended everything together perfectly. mrs. katheerine looked absolutely stunning! she resembled beauty and elegance in a magical way. i love you, little sissy! =)

wedding gown wednesday

hola lovies!
forgive me for this late wGw...
i was in a small car accident on my way home from work yesterday. =( i was rear-ended on the highway while driving my company car. there are lots of procedures to follow when accidents happen, so it ended up being a really long night. needless to say, i am tired and with a little neck pain. thank God i am okay and it wasn't anything too serious! i will be on some meds for a little while and will be getting my neck checked out next week.
although i am exhausted, i couldn't let this wednesday pass without showing you some pretty gowns....enjoy!
..........................................................................................................................................................................................
if you're a bride on a budget, then this is the wGw for you!
i am constantly looking for ideas and inspirations for my brides, blog and life all together.
most weddings come with a budget and most brides come a dream.
a dream of having the most perfect dress, which usually is a little more on the expensive side. =/
but even with a budget, you should NEVER sacrifice your look!
i'm not saying that you should spend all of your money on the gown, but there are definitely
other great options that are budget-friendly and will still give that WOW-factor you want!

here are some traditional and non-traditional gowns for under $500!!!!
BCBG $398
j.crew $495
Tadashi $388
Tadashi $269
Sue Wong $498
ABS $410
ABS $410

Aidan Mattox $395
Tadashi $415

wedding gown wednesday

hello to all the lovely people!
i can't believe its already wednesday. i have had two really long days, but still, this hump day creeped up pretty quickly! i feel like time is really rushing by me and i wish i had more...because i truly need it. -but, don't we all?
wouldn't it be nice if time could just stand still for one hour each day for you to do WHATEVER pleases you?!
ooh! that would be so lovely! then, i bet we would want 2 hours...because we are never satisfied...lol
...................................................................................................................................................................
anyways, so...wedding gowns...{!!!!}
my inspiration for this week is my boyfriend's mama, sweetie
she got married in...i'm gonna take a wild guess here and say...1977 [give or take a year or so...lol].
there are many interesting facts about her wedding:
she had a double wedding with her sister, flora and it was really pretty. double weddings are not something that you see very often. they each had their own bridal party and managed to pull it off well .
during the reception, each bridal party had their own side of the giant hall and since their families were so large and all knew each other, it was like a huge family get-together. the pictures are great!
so...her dress...
it was an A-line gown, with a v-shaped neckline, long sleeves & great lace detail. my favorite part is the lace!!!
i see her wedding picture every time i visit their home and it is so nice to look at because it just takes you there, to that time.
it truly holds the essence of that decade!
there were many variations of brides during that time, but sweetie was definitely the representation of your classic 70's bride.
her look was soft & pretty with flowy hair and just simple youthful elegance. it was prefect.
can you believe she still has it sealed in a box?!
 it is GORGEOUS!
here are some pics...enjoy! =)

be inspired.
now, don't get any ideas...i know what you're thinking! lol
